WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (June 10, 2021) — The Winston-Salem Dash fell on Thursday evening 6-2 in game three versus the Greenville Drive.

Johan Dominguez took the hill for the Dash and fared well for three scoreless innings, running into trouble after the Drive struck first in the fourth frame. Tyler Esplin scored on a ground ball fielder’s choice to give the Drive an early 1-0 lead. Esplin touched home again in the sixth on a double by Brandon Howlett. Howlett logged three doubles and four hits in the winning effort.

Brian Van Belle, while not factoring into the outcome, manned the bump for Greenville and threw five innings of shutout baseball, allowing two hits and no walks.

The Dash mustered up some offensive power in the seventh, as Lenyn Sosa plowed his third home run of the season—a two-run bomb to left center to even the score at 2-2.

Cooper Bradford entered in the eighth and allowed three singles in a row, one of which scored Cole Brannen to push the Drive ahead 3-2. A single by Brandon Howlett and a sacrifice fly off the bat of Devlin Granberg plated two more runs to give the Drive a 5-2 edge.

Greenville tacked one more on in the ninth, as Nick Sogard scored on a single by Cole Brannen.

With the Dash failing to plate any after the seventh, they took their first loss in the series, snapping their two-game winning streak. Zach Bryant (1-1) collected his first win on the season. Cooper Bradford (1-1) took his first loss.

The Dash are ahead 2-1 in the series versus Greenville and look for another victory Friday evening at Truist Stadium. Isaiah Carranza will toe the rubber for Winston-Salem. Greenville will call on Chris Murphy. First pitch is slated for 7:00 p.m. ET, with pregame coverage beginning at 6:45 on https://www.milb.com/winston-salem/team/broadcast-corner
