WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — The Winston-Salem Dash edged the Hickory Crawdads 7-5 over the in the Sunday afternoon series finale at Truist Stadium.

Davis Martin appeared in his second start of the series and was knocked around early, as Justin Foscue homered to put Hickory in front 1-0.

The Dash plated a run of their own in the second as Luis Curbel**o* walked and scored from first on a double by *Duke Ellis**.

Martin was lit up by the Crawdad bats in the third inning after he allowed four runs on four hits to put Hickory ahead 5-1. Trey Hair doubled to score a pair and crossed the plate on a David Garcia single that turned into a fielding error by Eloy Jimenez. Garcia was pushed across on a single from Scott Kapers to chase Martin from the game.

Winston-Salem fought back in the third to take a 6-5 lead, beginning with a three-run bomb to left center field by Lenyn Sosa. Travis Moniot later followed with a two-run blast that landed in the same spot.

The Dash plated another in the fifth to extend the lead to 7-5 after Lenyn Sosa scored on a single to right by Gunnar Troutwine.

The Winston-Salem bullpen held strong down the stretch, with Cooper Bradford collecting his first save on the year as the Dash came held on for a 7-5 victory. Bailey Horn (1-1) was credited with the win for Winston-Salem. Grant Wolfram (1-3) took the loss.

Hickory won the series four games to two, but the loss on Sunday moves the Crawdads to last place in the High-A South.

The Dash take Monday off and trek to Bowling Green, KY to face the Bowling Green Hot Rods, affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays, in a six-game series at Bowling Green Ballpark.

The Dash return to Truist Stadium on July 20 to begin a series against the Jersey Shore Blueclaws.
