WOODBRIDGE, Va. (May 26, 2018) - For the second time this season, the Dash pulled out an extra-inning win on the road, outlasting the Potomac Nationals 4-2 in 11 innings on Saturday night at Pfitzner Stadium.
With the game tied at two in the 11th inning, the Dash (27-22) took the lead on a defensive miscue. With Zach Remillard on second and nobody out, Luis Basabe laid down a bunt single down the third-base line. On the play, Nationals reliever Jeremy McKinney (0-1) made an errant throw to first that sailed over first baseman David Masters' head, allowing Remillard to come around to score.

Later in the frame, Basabe crossed home on a wild pitch by Taylor Guilbeau to make it a 4-2 contest. Following two shutout innings from Mike Morrison (4-1), who now leads all Dash relievers with four victories, Yelmison Peralta locked down the victory with three strikeouts to earn his first save of the year.
The final frame of the night marked the first time Winston-Salem had the lead in Saturday's game, which was delayed an hour and 25 minutes due to rain in the area. Potomac (25-20) took the early advantage in the second against Dash starter Bernardo Flores. Jake Noll led off the inning with a double, and, two batters later, Rhett Wiseman stroked a run-scoring double down the left-field line to put the Nationals ahead 1-0.
The Dash quickly responded in the top of the third against P-Nats starter Sterling Sharp. With the runners at the corners and one out, a passed ball by Tres Barrera allowed Ti'Quan Forbes to score, knotting the contest at one.
In the sixth, Potomac briefly regained the advantage. With two on and one out, Noll smacked a run-scoring double to left to make it a 2-1 contest. However, Flores ended his outing by striking out Barrera and inducing a groundout from Wiseman.
Flores, who has now logged seven quality starts this season, tossed six innings and allowed five hits and two runs in the effort. The former seventh-round pick also tied a career-high with eight strikeouts.
Just like in the early innings, Winston-Salem tied up the contest in the next inning. Forbes singled with two outs in the seventh, bringing up Yeyson Yrizarri. After a mound visit from Nationals manager Tripp Keister, Yrizarri smoked an RBI double off the wall in left to bring the score even at two.
Drew Hasler replaced Flores in the seventh and recorded two shutout innings, setting the stage for Morrison's two-inning performance and the Dash's fourth extra-inning win this year. Their other extra-inning victory on the road occurred on May 9 against Salem at Haley Toyota Field.
Winston-Salem continues its four-game series against the Potomac Nationals on Sunday at 1:05 p.m. at Pfitzner Stadium.
