Dash Shutout 8-0 by Tourists in Game One

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (September 14, 2021) — The Winston-Salem Dash fell 8-0 on Tuesday in game one of a six-game series at Truist Stadium. A scoreless first three innings gave way to a solo homer off the bat of Wilyer Abreu to break the silence and put the Tourists ahead 1-0.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (September 14, 2021) — The Winston-Salem Dash fell 8-0 on Tuesday in game one of a six-game series at Truist Stadium.

A scoreless first three innings gave way to a solo homer off the bat of Wilyer Abreu to break the silence and put the Tourists ahead 1-0.

Asheville powered up in the fifth inning, beginning with another home run from Zach Daniels to double the lead. With two gone, the Tourists began a string of base hits. J.C. Correa and C.J. Stubbs hit back-to-back singles, after which correa was driven in from second on a double from Yainer Diaz. Diaz and Stubbs each plated a run on a single from Deury Carrasco. Carrasco scored the final run of the inning on a Wilyer Abreu double.

The Tourists pushed to an 8-0 lead in the eighth inning. Carrasco led off with a walk, took second on a passed ball and scored on a double from Ramiro Rodriguez. Rodriguez raced to the plate on a single by Zach Daniels.

The Dash fell 8-0 to the Tourists. Misael Tomarez was credited with a win for Asheville. Starter Jesus Valles took the loss for Winston-Salem. The Tourists move ahead 1-0 in the series, which continues on Wednesday. Kaleb Roper will man the rubber for the Dash. Southpaw Julio Robaina will start for Asheville.
