WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (September 18, 2021) — The Winston-Salem Dash edged the Asheville Tourists 10-9 Saturday, shaking off a rain delay to take the penultimate game of the season. The game was initially delayed over an hour due to rain, forcing a late start to first pitch.

The scoring began in the second inning, with the Dash notching a run on a Brandon Bossard sacrifice fly, plating another in the third courtesy of a Lazaro Leal RBI single.

Both offenses exploded in the fourth inning, with the Tourists grabbing six runs to take a 6-2 lead. Undeterred, the Dash fired back with five runs of their own, leveraging a Luis Mieses three-RBI double and two bases loaded walks to snatch the lead once more.

The scoring resumed in the sixth when the Tourists tied the game on a sacrifice fly, knotting the game at seven.

In the home seventh, Winston-Salem plated three runs with RBIs from Terrell Tatum and Jeremiah Burks, giving the Dash a 10-7 lead.

Asheville refused to go quietly, scoring a pair in the seventh before Ryan Williamson and McKinley Moore recorded the final outs and preserved a 10-9 win.

The Dash will push for a series split with Asheville in the final game of the season on Sunday afternoon. First pitch is slated for 2:00 p.m. ET with coverage beginning at 1:45 on https://www.milb.com/winston-salem/team/broadcast-corner.
