Johan Dominguez earns High-A East Pitcher of the Week honors

Dash right-handed pitcher Johan Dominguez was named the High-A East division’s Pitcher of the Week for May 24-30, the league office announced Monday. Dominguez is the first Dash player to earn Pitcher or Player of the Week honors this season.
In his one start last week against the Hickory Crawdads on May 29th, Dominguez pitched 6 scoreless innings, allowing just one hit, striking out seven, and leading the Dash to a 2-0 victory. This start lowered Dominguez’s WHIP to .708—the second-lowest mark in the High-A East division.
Dominguez has now won his last two starts, giving up just 1 earned run in 11 innings pitched. He will look to build on this strong start to the season this week as the Dash play the Greensboro Grasshoppers on the road June 1-6. This will be the first professional baseball game between teams from Winston-Salem and Greensboro since 1968.
The Dash will be back at Truist Stadium for two consecutive homestands starting June 8th against the Greenville Drive. Tuesday nights are free hot dog nights at Truist Stadium; fans are invited to enjoy free hot dogs until 8:30 p.m.
