ZEBULON, N.C. (June 13, 2019) Kade McClure logged his second consecutive quality start with the Dash, but Eddie Silva's walk-off single propelled Carolina past Winston-Salem 1-0 on Thursday at Five County Stadium.
With the game scoreless in the bottom of the ninth, Payton Henry stroked a one-out single against Jose Nin (2-2), and he was pinch run for by Wes Rogers. Rob Henry followed an infield single to third to put runners on first and second. Then, on an 0-1 pitch, Silva grounded the game-winning single to right, lifting Carolina (38-28) to its seventh walk-off victory of the season. The Mudcats also snapped the Dash's (36-25) season-best, seven-game winning streak.

In picking up a no-decision, McClure was strong in his second High-A start. Overall, the former fourth-round pick out of the University of Louisville recorded six innings, allowing two hits while walking four and striking out four. In two outings with the Dash, the right-hander has yielded an 0.75 ERA.
Making his first start with Carolina, Aaron Ashby allowed just one hit in seven shutout innings, striking out eight in that span. Yeyson Yrizarri recorded the one hit with a two-out double in the third. Rodrigo Benoit (6-0), who was named a Carolina League All-Star on Tuesday, earned the win in relief for Carolina with a scoreless ninth. Winston-Salem's two hits on Thursday marked the fewest for the team in a nine-inning contest this season.
