GRAND CHUTE, WI - Milwaukee Brewers legend Don Money will help the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers get ready for their 2013 season.  Money has been scheduled as the special guest for this year's Wisconsin Timber Rattlers Leadoff Experience.  The event will be held at Liberty Hall on Wednesday, April 3 beginning at 5:30pm.

The Leadoff Experience is an annual banquet to welcome the Timber Rattlers to Northeastern Wisconsin for the new season.  There will be an autograph session, a family style dinner, and an interactive interview session as part of the program.

"A banquet to welcome players and coaches to the new season has been a tradition for Appleton Professional Baseball since 1958 and we are extremely happy to continue it," said Timber Rattlers president Rob Zerjav.  "This year is special because this is the first time the Timber Rattlers will be the defending Midwest League Champions heading into a season.  Don Money, a man who has either played as a Brewer or managed in the Brewers farm system for 25 years, is an appropriate guest to help our fans ring in the 2013 season.  It is an honor to have him."

Money played sixteen seasons in the major leagues.  He began with the Philadelphia Phillies in 1968 and was traded to the Brewers after the 1972 season.  Money played for Milwaukee from 1973 through 1983.

In his time with the Brewers, he set a Major League record by playing 88 consecutive errorless games at third base (still a record!) and was an American League All-Star four times - including being voted as the starting second baseman for the AL in the 1978 game at San Diego.

He played 1,196 games for Milwaukee and is still in the Top 10 for career hits, at bats, runs, singles, doubles, extra base hits, walks, and total bases as a Brewer.

Money would spend fourteen seasons as a manager in Milwaukee's minor league system.  He was the skipper of the Beloit Snappers from 1998 through 2004 and made it to the Midwest League Championship Series in 2000 and 2003.  Money also spent four seasons as the manager of Huntsville, Milwaukee's affiliate in the Southern League.  He won Southern League Manager of the Year in 2007.  He was the manager of the Nashville Stars, the Triple-A affiliate of the Brewers from 2009 through 2011.

Tickets for the 2013 Leadoff Experience are $30 per person or $300 for a table of nine plus one player.  Reservations for tickets may be made by contacting Mary Robinson at (920) 733-4152 beginning today.  Fans may also reserve their tickets in person at the team's temporary offices located at 2350 N. Casaloma Drive, Suite 102 from 9:00am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday.  Space is limited for the banquet.  If you are interested in attending, make your reservations as soon as possible.

On the night of the event, a cash bar and autograph session will kick things off at 5:30pm.  Dinner will begin at 6:30pm.  A question and answer session involving the Timber Rattlers coaching staff, the players of the 2013 Timber Rattlers team, and Money will follow dinner.  Liberty Hall is located at 800 Eisenhower Drive in Kimberly.

The Rattlers open Midwest League play the next night - April 4th - when they head to Peoria, Illinois to play the Midwest League affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals.  Wisconsin begins its home schedule at newly renovated Time Warner Cable Field at Fox Cities Stadium on Monday, April 8 against the Cedar Rapids Kernels at 6:35pm.
