Ratterree earns 2014 Minor League Rawlings Gold Glove Award

September 29, 2014

GRAND CHUTE, WI - Wisconsin Timber Rattlers right fielder Michael Ratterree has been announced as a winner of a 2014 Rawlings Gold Glove Award ® for defensive excellence. Only nine Gold Gloves - one for each defensive position - are awarded in all of minor league baseball.

Ratterree, a 10th round pick out of Rice by the Milwaukee Brewers in 2013, had 252 putouts and ten assists over 119 games in right field with the Timber Rattlers in 2014. He committed two errors during the season for a fielding percentage of .992.

The only other 2014 award winner to spend time in the Midwest League this season was center fielder Breland Almadova of the South Bend Silver Hawks.

A release from Minor League baseball notes:  To be eligible to receive the Rawlings Gold Glove Award, players must have participated in one of 10 domestic-based, full-season leagues, and show outstanding defensive skills.
