September 14, 2005: The Rattlers lost 4–1 at South Bend in Game Two of the Midwest League Championship Series. The Silver Hawks took a 1–0 lead on a Cesar Nicolas home run in the bottom of the second. Wisconsin tied the score 1–1 on an RBI grounder by Jeff Clement in the top of the fourth. The Silver Hawks loaded the bases with one out in the bottom of the seventh and an error on what could have been an inning ending double play allowed the go-ahead run to score. The Silver Hawks added two more runs in the inning. Wisconsin had two on with one out. However, Ross Ohlendorf got his eighth strikeout of the game for the second out and Hippolito Guerrero got the final out of the inning. Wisconsin went down in order in the top of the ninth and the Silver Hawks were up 2–0 in the series.
