Hartford- Stellar pitching by Erie was too much for the Hartford Yard Goats Sunday, as they dropped a Mother's Day doubleheader to the Seawolves, 4-0 and 2-0.

Erie scored two runs in the third inning of the second game, on an RBI triple by Jeff McVaney and a sacrifice fly by Mike Gerber. Otherwise, starter Parker French had an effective outing for the Yard Goats, allowing four hits, with two walks and five strike outs. The Seawolves added two unearned runs in the sixth to close out the scoring.
Ryan McMahon had two of Hartford's three hits in the nightcap.
In the opener, Hartford had base runners in every inning except the seventh, but stranded eight runners. Ashley Graeter collected two hits for Hartford.
The Yard Goats were done in by Christin Stewart's lead off home run in the second, his league-leading 10th round tripper. A.J. Simcox added an RBI-single in the frame. Otherwise Konner Wade pitched effectively for Hartford, walking only one batter and giving up seven hits in five innings of work.
Monday is a day off for the Yard Goats, before they head to Portland for a three day, four-game series. Hartford will play a doubleheader on Tuesday against the Red Sox affiliate. The first game will get underway at 5:00 with LH Sam Howard on the mound for the Yard Goats.
