The fourth straight win for the Yard Goats enabled them to clinch their first series in their new ballpark and it evened the Plymouth Rock Rivalry Series. The winner of the 19-game season series between these two New England rivals will take home the Plymouth Rock Assurance Cup.
French hurled 6.1 innings, allowing three runs on eight hits. He didn't walk anybody and struck out eight. The right-hander from the University of Texas improved his record to 2-2.
Reliever James Farris nailed down the win with his team-leading fourth save, throwing a scoreless ninth inning, after D.J. Johnson pitched 1.2 scoreless innings of relief.
Dillon Thomas continued his hot hitting for the Yard Goats, going 3-for-4 with two RBI. His single in the third inning snapped a 2-2 tie and Hartford never relinquished the lead. Josh Fuentes also had three hits, helping to fuel the Yard Goats' nine-hit attack.
