Yard Goats Lose in Reading on Saturday Night

Reading, PA- The Hartford Yard Goats were defeated by the Reading Fightin Phils by the score of 4-1 on Saturday night at FirstEnergy Stadium in Reading, Pennsylvania. Reading scored three times in the third inning and cruised behind starter Drew Anderson, who allowed just two hits in seven scoreless innings

Reading, PA- The Hartford Yard Goats were defeated by the Reading Fightin Phils by the score of 4-1 on Saturday night at FirstEnergy Stadium in Reading, Pennsylvania. Reading scored three times in the third inning and cruised behind starter Drew Anderson, who allowed just two hits in seven scoreless innings for the win. The Yard Goats have lost three in a row and finish a two city six game road trip tomorrow night.   

Both starters Drew Anderson for Reading and Parker French for the Yard Goats were impressive early and there was no score over the first four innings. 
The Fightin Phils scored three times in the fifth inning to take a 3-0 lead. Chase Numata led off with a single and eventually scored on a fielder's choice grounder by Zach Coppola. Scott Kingery walked and Andrew Pullin ripped a two-run triple scoring Coppola and Kingery and gave the Fightins a 3-0 lead. 
Reading added run in the sixth inning to make it 4-0. Angel Mora started the inning with a single and eventually scored on an infield grounder by Jiandido Tromp. 
The Yard Goats scored their first run in 27 innings with a run in the eighth. Josh Fuentes led off the frame with a walk and scored on Anthony Phillips RBI double to make it a 4-1 game. However, that is the only run Hartford would score in the game.    
The Yard Goats wrap up a 3-game series against the Reading Fightin Phils tomorrow night (5:05 PM) at FirstEnergy Stadium in Reading, Pennsylvania. LHP Sam Howard will start for the Yard Goats while RHP Tom Bergjans will pitch for the Fightins. The broadcast can be heard on AM 1410 WPOP or on iheart radio.
