Yard Goats Shutout 1-0 Again in Binghamton

Binghamton, NY- The Hartford Yard Goats were shutout by the Binghamton Rumble Ponies by the score of 1-0 on Saturday night at NYSEG Stadium in Binghamton, New York. It was the second straight night that the Yard Goats were defeated by a 1-0 score. David Thompson cracked a two out single in the eighth inning off reliever Johendi Jiminian, scoring Patrick Biondi for the only run of the game as the Rumble Ponies extended their win streak to seven games.   The game was scoreless after seven innings and Yard Goats starter Ryan Castellani was impressive with six scoreless innings with seven strikeouts.   

Again, solid pitching was the story in Binghamton. Yard Goats starter Ryan Castellani hurled six shutout frames while Binghamton starter Ricky Knapp tossed five. Hartford had some chances against Knapp and stranded five runners over the first five innings. Meanwhile, Castellani permitted only one hit over six frames while recording seven strikeouts. He left as scoreless game after six full innings.   


The Yard Goats and Rumble Ponies will play the third game of the weekend series on Sunday evening (6:35 PM). LHP Craig Schlitter will start for the Yard Goats while RHP Marcos Molina will counter for Binghamton. The broadcast can be heard on AM 1410 WPOP or on iheart radio.
