Raposo homers in Redbirds loss at Charlotte to close April 

Memphis catcher clubbed third home run of season in second inning

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Memphis Redbirds began a six-game road trip with a 4-3 loss at the Charlotte Knights (Triple-A, Chicago White Sox) on Tuesday night in Charlotte. Memphis grabbed the lead in the top of the second inning on a catcher Nick Raposo two-run home run to left-center field.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Memphis Redbirds began a six-game road trip with a 4-3 loss at the Charlotte Knights (Triple-A, Chicago White Sox) on Tuesday night in Charlotte.

Memphis grabbed the lead in the top of the second inning on a catcher Nick Raposo two-run home run to left-center field. The blast was the right-handed hitter’s third home run of the season. The Redbirds did not score until the top of the ninth on an RBI groundout from center fielder Victor Scott II.

Starting pitcher Adam Kloffenstein (0-4) allowed four runs on five hits, walked three and struck out four in his 5.0-inning start. The right-handed pitcher’s runs allowed came in a pair of two run frames, the second and third.

Major League Rehabbing designated hitter Dylan Carlson finished his first MLB Rehab Appearance 0-for-1 with two walks in three plate appearances.

The Memphis Redbirds return to AutoZone Park to begin a 13-game homestand against the Norfolk Tides on Tuesday, May 7 with first pitch for 6:45 p.m. CDT.
