Playoff Procedures

The Dominican Summer League postseason will consist of eight teams participating in a three-round tournament. Each round will be a best-of-three series.

The eight postseason participants will be the winners of each division and two wild card teams. The division winners will be based on winning percentage at the end of the championship season. The wild card teams will be the two teams with the best winning percentage other than the six division winners.

In the event of any ties, the following tiebreakers will apply in the order below:

  1. Head-to-head record (if three or more teams, best winning percentage in games among the teams)
  2. If the teams remain tied, best overall winning percentage over the last 20 games
  3. If the teams remain tied, best overall winning percentage over an additional game (the last 21 games, the last 22 games, etc.) until one emerges with a better winning percentage in that span of games
