PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (July 20, 2017) - The Jupiter Hammerheads avoided a sweep with a 10-2 win over the St. Lucie Mets on Thursday at First Data Field.

Peter Alonso hit two solo home runs for the Mets, but it was the Jupiter offense that controlled the game.

The Hammerheads scored three runs off Mets starter Nabil Crismatt in the fifth inning to jump ahead 4-1.

Alonso's second homer in the sixth cut the Mets deficit to 4-2. However, the Hammerheads scored two in the seventh to go up 6-2. John Silviano put the game out of reach when he hit a grand slam in the eighth to make it 10-2 Jupiter.

Jupiter starter Jeff Brigham held the Mets to two runs over six innings. He struck out five. Both runs against him were the Alonso bombs. Those were the only two runs that Brigham allowed against the Mets in 18 total innings this year.

Alonso now has 12 home runs on the season in just 51 games. He has five homers in his last five games. He is the first St. Lucie Met to reach 12 homers in a season since Dustin Lawley in 2013.

Mets starter Nabil Crismatt struck out eight and gave up just two earned runs in five innings. He now leads the Florida State League in innings pitched (107) and strikeouts (111).

Tim Tebow went 2 for 3 with a walk. It was Tebow's second straight two-hit game and his third multi-hit game in his last four contests.

Jupiter leadoff hitter Mason Davis reached base six times. He went 5 for 6 with three doubles and reached on an error.

Hammerheads No. 2 hitter Cleuluis Rondon made it on four times. He went 3 for 5 with a walk and three runs scored.

Silviano's grand slam was his second this season at First Data Field.

The Mets five-game home winning streak and three-game overall winning streak were snapped.

The Mets (11-16, 44-51) hit the road to Kissimmee to take on the Florida Fire Frogs in a four-game series starting on Friday. First pitch is 7:05 p.m.
