Adam Davis Leads 4-2 Win over Power
West Virginia scored the first two runs of the game. In the first inning, Alen Hanson reached on an error by Mychal Givens. After stealing second, Hanson scored on a single by Willy Garcia. In the second, Chris Lashmet and Elias Diaz hit singles to open the inning. After a sacrifice bunt, Lashmet scored on a groundout by Hanson.
The Shorebirds cut into the deficit in the fourth inning. With two outs, Adam Davis reached on a hit by pitch. West Virginia starter Robby Rowland walked the next batter and threw two wild pitches during the following at-bat, allowing Davis to score.
In the sixth inning, Connor Narron singled and advanced to second on a bunt. Then, Adam Davis crushed a two-run home run to left field to give the Shorebirds a 3-2 edge.
Shorebirds starter Matt Taylor went a career long seven innings to earn his third win of the season. Taylor allowed eight hits and one earned run.
The Shorebirds scored an insurance run in the seventh against reliever Rinku Singh. After Singh issued back-to-back walks, catcher Elias Diaz fired high to second on a double steal, allowing Glynn Davis to score.
Zach Fowler tossed two scoreless innings to increase his scoreless innings streak to 24. He has not allowed an earned run to cross since April 28. Fowler picked up his second save of the season.
