Drive Win Second Straight over Suns

Allday goes 3-4 with a triple and 2 RBI

Hagerstown, MD - The Greenville Drive (10-27, 44-62) put together a complete performance on Sunday en route to an 8-4 win over the Hagerstown Suns (23-14, 67-40) to take a 2-0 lead in the four-game series.

In his first game back after missing three weeks with an injury, Forrestt Allday had a big night at the plate for the Drive, going 3-4 with a triple and two RBI. Zach Kapstein, Hector Lorenzana, Wendell Rijo and Tim Roberson joined him with two-hit games in a 13-hit offensive attack.

Not to be outdone, Jason Garcia (1-1) delivered a solid outing on the mound, throwing six innings and giving up six hits, two runs and two walks with four strikeouts, while German Taveras allowed one earned run in three innings to collect his first save.

With the score knotted up at two in the top of the fifth, Allday laced an RBI triple to left field to score Manuel Margot, who singled and swiped second off Ryan Ullmann (3-1). Two batters later, Kapstein lined a single to center to plate Allday and make the score 4-2.

Allday struck again in the sixth, smacking a single to center that scored Tim Roberson, who doubled. 

James Yezzo had three hits for Hagerstown, and Cody Dent and John Wooten chipped in with two hits apiece.

The series continues on Monday night at 7:05. LH Daniel McGrath (4-4, 3.59) starts on the mound for the Drive, while the Suns will counter with RH Reynaldo Lopez (0-1, 7.04).
