Tampa, Fla. - The Tampa Yankees (31-25) and the Dunedin Blue Jays (31-25) played in a close match-up tonight at George M. Steinbrenner Field. Both teams had 10 hits, and the victory went to the Blue Jays, 9-5. Matt Tracy (5-6, 3.35 ERA) started on the bump for Tampa and Scott Copeland (3-1, 3.51 ERA) started for Dunedin.

Similar to last night, the Blue Jays scored a run in the first and Kenny Wilson led off the game with a double. He advanced to third on a sacrifice bunt and scored on a Kevin Pillar ground out. Tampa came up and took the lead in the bottom of the inning. They had Ramon Flores on third, and Tyler Austin singled to send home Flores. Austin stole second, and Kyle Roller stepped up to bat and tripled. Roller would score on a ground out from Gary Sanchez and Tampa was up 3-1.

Each team added one run to their total and the T-Yanks had a 4-2 lead entering the fourth when the Blue Jays took off. They loaded the bases, and Justin Jackson singled with one out to score one. A fielding error by Tampa would score another one for Dunedin and keep the bases loaded. A passed ball sent home a third run, and an Oliver Dominguez homerun would give the Blue Jays a 7-4 lead. Tampa chipped away with one run in the fourth when Flores and Heathcott hit back-to-back doubles to tighten the score, 7-5.

In the top of the fifth, Dunedin added two more to their total and that would be it for the games scoring giving the Blue Jays a 9-5 win and bumping the Tampa Yankees to second place in the FSL North Division.

The Tampa Yankees start a four-game series in two days with the Daytona Cubs. They will play a double header Friday, August 24th with the first game starting at 3:00pm. Fans can enjoy $1 soda, $10 all-you-can-eat chicken wings and select drink specials on the Tampa Tribune Deck from 4:30 - 6:30pm.
