Baysox Season Comes to an End

Akron, Ohio - The Bowie Baysox dropped their third straight game to the Akron Aeros and had their 2012 season come to an end on Sunday night by a score of 5-2. After leading the series 2 games to 0, the team was unable to win a final game to close out the series.

The Aeros got out to the strong start in the bottom of the first inning scoring three runs. Jordan Henry led off with a walk, stole second and scored on an RBI single by Chun Chen. Then with two outs and two on, Adam Abraham lined a two-run single to center to give the Aeros a 3-0 lead.

In the second inning, the Aeros added another run when Tyler Holt hit a two out RBI single to knock in Davis Stoneburner and make the score 4-0.

The Baysox got on the board in the sixth inning. Antoan Richardson and Buck Britton singled back-to-back to put runners at the corners. Then Ty Kelly knocked in Richardson on a sacrifice fly to make the score 4-1.

In the seventh inning the Aeros got a run back on the second RBI of the game by Chen that knocked in Holt.

The Baysox would get one more run on a home run by Josh Barfield in the eighth, but end up falling by a score of 5-2.

The winning pitcher was Brett Brach who went 6.2 innings and allowed two runs on six hits with four strikeouts and no walks.

Tim Bascom got the loss going two innings and allowing four runs on four hits with one strikeout and two walks.
