Wierzbicki named 'Cats MVP

TROY, NY- Tri-City ValleyCats manager Stubby Clapp has named Jesse Wierzbicki as the 2012 team MVP.
Wierzbicki, a 24th round draft pick in 2011 out of the University of North Carolina, led the team in hits (76), runs (46) and RBI (40), and also ranked first in the league defensively among all first baseman with a .995 fielding percentage.
After being drafted in 2011, Wierzbicki spent the season with the Greeneville Astros of the Rookie League. This year he was assigned to Tri-City and was a leader on the field and in the clubhouse.
