Gold Glove Bobblehead Series highlights 2013 promotions

KODAK, Tenn. - The Tennessee Smokies, the Double-A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs, conclude the unveiling of the team's 2013 season promotional schedule with a preview of the individual theme nights including giveaways and appearances.  With something lined up different every day of the season, the 2013 Smokies experience will confirm that "The Kids Can Play" at Smokies Park!

Giveaways:  Giveaway nights are a staple within the Minor League Baseball experience all around the country, and the Smokies are no different.  Three former Smokies were awarded MLB Gold Gloves this offseason.  The Smokies will be honoring these three players with the "Smokies Gold Glove Bobblehead Series" in 2013.  The excitement continues all the way to the end of the season with nine total giveaways throughout the year.   Here's a look at all of the 2013 giveaways at Smokies Park:

  • April 13: Magnet Schedule Giveaway, presented by Pilot Food Marts and Citizens National Bank (First 3,000 fans)
  • April 20: Smokies 2013 Poster Schedule Giveaway, presented by Comfort Suites-East and Victor Prints (First 1,500 fans)
  • May 24: Baseball Giveaway, presented by Cherokee National Forest (First 800 fans 12-and-under)
  • May 25: Carlos Gonzalez Gold Glove Bobblehead Giveaway, presented by US Cellular and the Knoxville News Sentinel (First 1,500 fans)
  • June 15: Smokies Cap Giveaway, presented by Hardee's, Comfort Suites and the Knoxville News Sentinel (First 2,500 fans)
  • July 20: Yadier Molina Gold Glove Bobblehead Giveaway, presented by US Cellular and WBIR TV-10 (First 1,500 fans)
  • August 10: Smokies Cap Giveaway, presented by Food City, Peter Pan Peanut Butter and WBIR TV-10 (First 2,500 fans)
  • August 17: Darwin Barney Gold Glove Bobblehead Giveaway, presented by US Cellular and WATE TV-6 (First 1,500 fans)
  • August 24: Dog Calendar Giveaway, presented by Frontline/Heartgard (First 1,500 fans)
