06/24/2013 12:43 PM ET

Brooklyn, NY- The Aberdeen IronBirds sent Austin Urban to the hill looking for their first win of the season. It was not meant to be, as the Brooklyn Cyclones used two innings to score three runs and take a 3-0 win in game one of the three game series.

Aberdeen had a chance in the third inning with runners on first and second with one down, but couldn't score. Brooklyn would take advantage of the missed opportunity in the bottom of the inning. Gavin Cecchini hit a one out double, and came into score on a Jared King RBI double to left field. King would score on a fly ball hit by Julio Concepcion to right field. Manny Hernandez had to run a long way to try and catch it, but couldn't come up with it, and it made the score 2-0.

Brooklyn would add one more in the 5th. King reached on a fielder's choice, advanced on a Trey Mancini error, and would score on a passed ball, making it 3-0 Cyclones.

The IronBirds would threaten in the 9th, but Kris Richards hit into a double play to end the game.

Austin Urban takes the loss. He went 4.1 innings, allowed six hits, three runs (one earned), walking three and striking out four. John Gant got the win for the Cyclones, going five innings, allowing three hits, two walks and striking out six. John Mincone pitched the final 1.1 innings for the save, his first of the season.

The IronBirds will look again for their first win of the season tomorrow as Steve Brault makes his IronBirds' debut. He will go up against the Cyclones' Seth Lugo. First pitch is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
