Baseball 101 for Ladies With Ruth Ryan

The Special Event is Presented by State Farm
July 23, 2013

ROUND ROCK, Texas - Oh yes, it's ladies night at Dell Diamond! The Round Rock Express, in a partnership with State Farm, announced today plans for "Baseball 101 for Ladies," a night dedicated to enhancing women's understanding of the game of baseball. The unique event will be held on Wednesday, July 31 from 6 - 9 p.m. in the United Heritage Center.

The night will feature a special welcome reception with drinks and appetizers from 6 - 6:30 p.m., followed by a women-of-baseball guest panel. The panel will feature some of the most esteemed women in the game, including Ruth Ryan, wife of Hall-of-Fame pitcher Nolan Ryan; Nicole Ryan, wife of Astros President and Express Founder Reid Ryan; and Wendy Abrahamsen, mother of MLB pitcher and former Express pitcher Brian Gordon. Jill Cacic, Express director of communications, will moderate the panel.

Following the special guest panel discussion, participants will break up into small groups to get a behind-the-scenes look at different aspects of the game, including how to score a game, different hitting and pitching techniques, how the grounds crew keeps the grass green, and more!

After the behind-the-scenes sessions, all attendees will have the chance to bid on unique, one-of-a-kind items in a silent auction. All ladies in attendance will also receive a swag bag with an Express misting fan, Southern Tide gear and four tickets to a future Express game.

Tickets for the event are $75 and can be purchased at www.RoundRockExpress.com or by calling (512) 255-2255. Ladies must be 21 and older to attend. Space is limited for this special event.

The Express continues a four-game road trip tonight at AutoZone Park against the Memphis Redbirds (Triple-A, St. Louis Cardinals) before returning home to face Memphis for four games at Dell Diamond July 26-29.
