IronPigs Blanked in Buffalo Saturday Night

Offense manages six hits in 2-0 defeat

BUFFALO, NY - The Lehigh Valley IronPigs dropped their second straight contest Saturday night, falling to the Buffalo Bisons 2-0 at Coca-Cola Field.

Left-hander Sean Nolin (1-1) earned his first career Triple-A victory, striking out four and allowing five hits over 6 2/3 innings. Jeremy Jeffress earned his third save of the season, despite allowing a pair of hits in the ninth.

In the fourth Buffalo (69-65) scored the contest's first run, as Andy LaRoche knocked a leadoff double before scoring two batters later on an RBI single by Ryan Langerhans. In the next frame Mauro Gomez singled, went from first to third on a passed ball and scored on Brad Glenn's sacrifice fly for a 2-0 lead.

In the ninth Lehigh Valley (68-66) put the tying run aboard as Tyler Henson and Cody Overbeck each singled to lead off the frame, but the next three hitters went down in order as the IronPigs fell for the third time in their last four games.

Southpaw Adam Morgan (2-6) took the loss, allowing one run on six hits in four innings of work, while the Lehigh Valley bullpen surrendered one run over four innings on three hits.

Henson finished 2-for-3 with a walk, while Cesar Hernandez was the only other IronPig with two hits.

Lehigh Valley goes for the series split Sunday when LHP Raul Valdes (3-4, 3.11) takes the hill against RHP Kyle Drabek (1-1, 2.57) for Buffalo. First pitch is scheduled for 1:05 p.m. at Coca-Cola Field.
