Monday's Home Opener Postponed Due to Rain

April 7, 2014

(Allentown, Pa.) - Monday's home opener between the Lehigh Valley IronPigs and the Buffalo Bisons at Coca-Cola Park has been postponed due to rain. The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Wednesday, April 9, beginning at 5:35 p.m. Please note that all gates open at 4:30 p.m. for Wednesday's twin bill. Each of the doubleheader games are scheduled for seven innings and only one ticket is needed to attend both games.

Due to the postponement, fans holding tickets to Monday's game can exchange each ticket for a ticket of equal or lesser value to any remaining 2014 regular season game at Coca-Cola Park.   All ticket exchanges must be made in-person at the Coca-Cola Park Ticket Office (no phone or internet exchanges). Ticket exchanges are subject to availability. Fans with additional questions are asked to call (610) 841-PIGS (7447).

The season opening homestand continues on Tuesday at 7:05 p.m. with Wrestling Night presented by Pro Wrestling World featuring an appearance by WWE Hall of Famer Tito Santana. A 2004 WWE Hall of Fame inductee, Santana's signature flying forearm helped him capture both the Intercontinental and Word Tag Team Championship during his career. Santana is scheduled to throw out a ceremonial first pitch and sign complimentary autographs for fans during his visit.

The IronPigs wrap up their series with the Bisons with Wednesday's 5:35 p.m. doubleheader featuring a Cody Asche Bobblehead giveaway presented by Cat Country 96 & WLEV for the first 3,000 fans 18 and older. Asche is coming off a highly successful campaign - just his second full season of professional baseball - that culminated with the 23-year-old appearing in 50 games for the Phillies during his rookie season. He began 2013 in the International League with the IronPigs and quickly became one of the league's most consistent weapons, hitting .295 while being named an All-Star for the second time in his career.

Great seats are still available for all upcoming games and can be purchased in-person at Coca-Cola Park (Monday-Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.), by calling (610) 841-PIGS (7447) or online at ironpigsbaseball.com. Two brand-new seating areas, the "Hot Corner" and the "Bacon Strip" have been added to Coca-Cola Park this season, offering IronPigs fans the most unique and distinctive seating and hospitality areas in all of Minor League Baseball.

Single-game tickets, mini-plan packages and group tickets for all IronPigs home games presented by Capital BlueCross, are on sale now and can be purchased at the Coca-Cola Park Ticket Office, online at www.ironpigsbaseball.com or by calling (610) 841-PIGS.
