Nationals and Hillcats Suspended in Game Three in Scoreless Tie

Potomac and Lynchburg Will Complete Fragmented Game Tomorrow Night at 5:00pm then Play Seven-Inning Contest
April 28, 2014

Woodbridge, VA-The Potomac Nationals (14-8, 7-4) and Lynchburg Hillcats (9-14, 5-7) were suspended in the top of the 2nd inning while in a scoreless tie due to consistent rainfall on Monday night at Pfitzner Stadium.

With Potomac RHP Dakota Bacus on the mound facing 1B Edison Sanchez in the top of the 2nd inning, and Lynchburg 3B Kevin Ahrens in scoring position after an infield single chopped behind second base got him aboard and a wild pitch allowed the advance, the game was put into a rain delay at 7:23pm by Home Plate Umpire Mike Provine.

After roughly one hour and ten minutes, the contest was suspended due to continued rain.

The suspended game will be completed tomorrow at 5:00pm then the regularly scheduled Game Four finale will be seven innings in length.

All tickets to tonight's game will be accepted for both ends of the makeshift doubleheader tomorrow evening or any other game for the remainder of the 2014 regular season home campaign with Friday, July 4th being the only exception.

It will be a Two-For-Tuesday promotion in which P-Nats fans will receive two tickets, two hot dogs, and two small sodas for the price of one at the Potomac Nationals Ticket Office.

Pitching matchups for both games tomorrow are to be determined.

The Potomac Nationals Baseball Network, which is accessible at www.potomacnationals.com, will broadcast the completion of the suspended contest and the backend seven-inning ballgame tomorrow night beginning with the P-Nats Leadoff Show at 4:45pm before the live play-by-play at 5:00pm.
