Unidentified Villain Escapes From G-Braves Space Prison

Super Chopper to Defend Coolray Against Evil on June 8th
June 2, 2014

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA - The Gwinnett Braves have announced that an unidentified villain has broken free from their prison in outer space and has its sights set on Coolray Field and more specifically, Super Chopper. Sources say that the evil force that has escaped will arrive in time for the Gwinnett Braves game against the Rochester Red Wings, this Sunday, June 8th at 2:05PM. Staff at Coolray Field is urging fans to come dressed up in their superhero costumes to help Chopper defend the G-Braves home turf against the unknown bad guy.

Since the G-Braves were brought to Lawrenceville in 2009, Super Chopper has been protecting Coolray Field from various villiains over the years, including the Joker and of course, the pesky Infield Fly. This unidentified being from outer space looks to be Chopper's biggest test yet as he has already begun preparing for its arrival.

"We are well aware of the situation at hand," said Marketing & Promotions Manager, Brandon Apter, who spoke to a few media members exclusively. "While we thought our outer space prison was unescapable, we have clearly found some flaws in its design and now have to rely on Super Chopper to do what he does best, protect the Gwinnett Braves and their fans."

More information to follow in the coming days…

There will be plenty of defenses against this force from outer space come Sunday as it is also Touch-a-Truck Day. Police and fire vehicles will be outside Coolray Field prior to the game for fans to enjoy. It is also Local Heroes day, so in addition to fans that choose to don their favorite superhero's costume, we will be honoring heroes from the area throughout the day.

Last, but not least, on top of all of the SuperHero & Local Hero festivies, it is also a Sunday Family Funday. Fans are encouraged to bring their baseball gloves and baseballs for catch on the field for 20 minutes pre-game. Following the final out, kids 12 & under get to run the bases thanks to our friends at Kid to Kid Buford.
