Moya Blasts League-Leading 24th Homer

The SeaWolves five-game winning streak was snapped on Tuesday night by the Reading Fightin Phils 9-3 at Jerry Uht Park.

Reading struck for a run in the top of the first inning against Erie starter Kyle Ryan. With two outs, Kelly Dugan singled and was doubled home by Jake Fox for a 1-0 lead.

Erie responded in the bottom of the first against Reading starter Chris Bootcheck. Marcus Lemon walked with two outs and Steven Moya blasted a two-run home run to right for a 2-1 lead. The home run for Moya was his league-leading 24th.

The Fightins regained the lead in the third. Edgar Duran singled and was doubled home by Albert Cartwright, tying the game. With one out, Dugan singled home Cartwright for a 3-2 lead. Fox followed with a two-run home run to left making it 5-2 Reading.

Erie got one back in the last of the fifth when Aaron Westlake homered off the foul pole in right making it 5-3. The home run was his 10th, however the 'Wolves would get no closer.

Reading added four late runs against Erie reliever Bryan Augenstein including a three-run home run from Fox who finished the night with six RBI.

Ryan (6-10) took the loss allowing five runs on eight hits with two walks and four strikeouts in seven innings of work.
