Dust Devils Hold Off Eugene

The Tri-City Dust Devils opened the second half of the season with a 3-2 win over the Eugene Emeralds on Tuesday night. Tri-City gave up two runs in the ninth inning and allowed the winning run aboard, but the Dust Devils were able to prevail despite the scare. Scott Firth struggled with his control in the ninth inning and was replaced by Josh Michalec, who closed out the game and earned the save. Josh Fuentes had a good night at the plate, collecting two hits and driving in a run.  

The road series continues on Wednesday night at PK Park in Eugene. Tri-City will send Ryan Warner to the mound in the second game of the eight-game road trip. The Dust Devils return home on Wednesday, July 30th to begin a five-game series with the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes. It will be a Worthwhile Wednesday presented by Precision Movers at Gesa Stadium, where a local non-profit will be highlighted and have a table on the concourse.
