August 1, 2014

EUGENE, Ore. -- Former and current Oregon Ducks coaches and players, local radio and television personalities, and former Eugene Emeralds greats headline the Whackapolooza Celebrity All-Star Game, part of an afternoon full of baseball and entertainment at the ballpark. The game is scheduled for 5pm on Tuesday, August 5th at PK Park in lead up to the Northwest League All-Star Game later that evening.

With a total of eleven players on each team, the Whackapolooza Celebrity All-Star Game will pit Oregon Ducks, former Eugene Emeralds teammates, and even brothers against one another in a four-inning softball game as part of the NWL All-Star Fan-Fest.

Headlining the matchup will be a team featuring Rob Mullens (Athletic Director, University of Oregon), Tom Pappas (Decathlete, four-time US Champion), and EJ Singler (former Oregon Ducks Basketball player) facing off against a team that will sport Kyle Singler (an Oregon native and currently a member of the Detroit Pistons), Mike White (Head Coach, Oregon Ducks Softball), and Jim Moore (Head Coach, Oregon Volleyball).

Radio and television personalities from KEZI, 95.3FM The Score, 104.7 KDUK, 590AM KUGN, New Country 93, and the Oregon IMG Network will also help make up the teams for the Whackapolooza Celebrity All-Star Game, while each squad will also feature a member of the 1975 Eugene Emeralds championship winning team, George McPherson and John Harrison. Full rosters and participants for the Whackapolooza Celebrity All-Star Game will be revealed soon.

The PK Park gates will open at 4pm on Tuesday, August 5th for the All-Star Fan-Fest, which will include the Whackapolooza Celebrity All-Star Game, a live performance by Medium Troy (presented by Pedal Power Music), a two-hour autograph session with the Northwest League All-Stars, inflatable games, and fun for all ages. The 2014 Northwest League All-Star Game presented by Northwest Toyota Dealers will get underway at 7:05pm.

Eugene's own Medium Troy is set to perform two, 45-minute sets at the All-Star Game, and a Silipint cup giveaway has been announced for the first 1,000 fans that purchase tickets to the All-Star Game and enter through PK Park's home plate gates.
