Indians Come From Behind to Beat Tri-City

Shouse Pitches Great for Dust Devils in Loss

The Tri-City Dust Devils held a lead into the eighth inning, but the Spokane Indians came back to win 3-2 in front of 2,908 fans at Gesa Stadium on Thursday night. The loss put the Dust Devils (10-11 Second Half, 24-35 Overall) in a tie with the Everett AquaSox for first place for the second half in the Northwest League's North Division.

Shortstop Chris Rabago and center fielder Drew Weeks drove in the two runs for Tri-City. Rabago went 1-for-3 on the night, and Weeks went 1-for-4 with a double.

Dust Devils starter Blake Shouse pitched fabulously over five innings Thursday night. Shouse allowed just one run on three hits and a walk. He struck out five and left the game with a lead, but he ended the game with a no-decision.

Reliever Josh Michalec (1-2) took the loss for Tri-City. Michalec allowed a run on a hit with a strikeout over 1 2/3 innings.

Starting pitcher Nick Gardewine pitched well over five innings for the Indians (9-12 Second Half, 34-25 Overall). He allowed two runs on three hits with a walk and a strikeout. Gardewine also ended the game with a no-decision.

Spokane reliever Shane McCain (2-0) got the win Thursday night. McCain pitched four scoreless innings after coming in for Gardewine, striking out seven and allowing just one hit.

The Dust Devils and Indians will play the final game of this three game set Friday night at Gesa Stadium. The first 500 ticketed fans through the Gesa Stadium gates will receive a Russell Wilson 3D Canvas courtesy of Gesa Credit Union. It will also be $1 Family Feast Night presented by CO-Energy. All hot dogs, 12-ounce Coca-Cola products, bags of potato chips and ice cream sandwiches will be on sale for just a dollar. Tri-City will send righty Joel Payamps (0-1) to the hill to take on southpaw Derek Thompson (4-5) for Spokane. Great seats are still available for Friday's game.
