CHIEFS ANNOUNCE HIGHLIGHTS OF AUGUST 27-28 HOMESTAND

Games include final Winning Wednesday and $1.00 Thursday
August 27, 2014

The Syracuse Chiefs, the Triple-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals, return home on Wednesday for a two-game homestand against the Rochester Red Wings, the Triple-A affiliate of the Minnesota Twins. Here's what's coming up for the first-place Chiefs, who are closing in on their first playoff berth since 1998…

Wednesday, August 27th (7:00 p.m. vs. Rochester): The crucial series with Rochester begins on a Winning Wednesday. Prizes for this Wednesday include a VIP membership to Pole Position Raceway, one free burger per month for one year from the Bull & Bear Pub, a family four-pack of tickets to the Baseball Hall of Fame, a family four-pack of tickets to the New York State Fair, two tickets to Journey's concert at the New York State Fair, and two hours of free bowling at Strike 'N Spare Lanes for up to six people.

Fans at NBT Bank Stadium will have the chance to meet Yankee legend Bucky Dent during Wednesday's game. Dent, best known for his go-ahead home run in the one-game playoff between the Yankees and Boston Red Sox in 1978, will be signing autographs on the stadium concourse from 6-8 p.m. during the Chiefs' game that night versus the Rochester Red Wings. The 12-year MLB veteran will be signing one item per fan, which can include baseball memorabilia. Dent will also be signing at Delta Sonic Car Wash in North Syracuse from 4:45-5:30 p.m. The Chiefs and Delta Sonic will provide fans at Dent's appearance at Delta Sonic with a co-branded photo of his famous home run, while supplies last. No other items will be signed at Delta Sonic.

Wednesday's game is also Latino Night sponsored by CNY Latino. Fans can enjoy live music from the band Grupo Pagan from 6-7 p.m. on the stadium concourse as we celebrate Latino heritage.

Thursday, August 28th (7:00 p.m. vs. Rochester): We invite fans looking to enjoy the final regular-season $1.00 Thursday presented by 95X out to the ballpark as the homestand wraps up. Hoffmann hot dogs, Coca-Cola products, programs, as well as Budweiser, Labatt and Saranac products can all be purchased for just $1. Additionally, general admission tickets can be purchased for only $3.

With the fall semester starting up, college students are invited to NBT Bank Stadium for College Night. We encourage students to show their school spirit by wearing colors and apparel from their college.
