Fresno Famous Bobblehead Tournament

Online fan voting will determine the likeness of a bobblehead giveaway for a Fresno Grizzlies home game
March 8, 2015

FRESNO, Calif. - While the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament solidified their Final Four, the Fresno Famous Bobblehead Tournament did the same Sunday night as KMPH Great Day anchor Kopi Sotiropulos, Portland Trail Blazers center Robin Lopez, former NFL player Ickey Woods, and Mayor Ashley Swearengin all won their respective matchups to advance. Kopi faces Robin Lopez, while Ickey Woods takes on the Mayor in the Round of 4 matchups that will be open to online voting through Wednesday, April 1st at 5:00 p.m. PT. The winners of those two matchups will square off in the Fresno Famous Bobblehead Tournament Championship that will have online voting run Thursday, April 2nd through Sunday, April 5th. The winner will be announced on Monday morning, April 6th. All voting takes place at FresnoGrizzlies.com.

All four matchups in the Round of 8 were runaways, with the four winners all receiving at least 60% of the vote. The results are shown below:

Kopi Sotiropulos (64.55%) defeated Richard Kiel (35.45%)

Robin Lopez (62.91%) defeated Jenifer Alcorn (37.09%)

Ickey Woods (63.74%) defeated Sheriff Margaret Mims (36.26%)

Mayor Swearengin (60.55%) defeated Greg from Q97 (39.45%)

The final two rounds of the bobblehead tournament limit votes to one per person, so fans are encouraged to lobby their friends, family, and co-workers to push their favorite over the top to receive the title of #FresnoFamous. As a reminder, the Fresno Famous winner will have a bobblehead molded to their likeness that will be given away to the first 1,500 fans at the Fresno Grizzlies Saturday, August 22nd home game vs. Round Rock.

For more information on this tournament or to find out more about Fresno Grizzlies Opening Day on Thursday, April 9th, fans can visit FresnoGrizzlies.com or stop by the Chukchansi Park Box Office.
