Nolan Ryan Hall of Fame Plaque to Visit Dell Diamond

Plaque will Leave Cooperstown for the First Time Ever for Opening Day Weekend

ROUND ROCK, Texas - The National Baseball Hall of Fame plaque of Nolan Ryan will be leaving its home in Cooperstown, NY for the first time in history. The plaque has never left the hallowed grounds of the Hall of Fame, but will embark on a journey to Dell Diamond on April 17 and 18 during the Express' Opening Day weekend.

The plaque will be on display Friday, April 17 from 5:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. and Saturday, April 18 from 4:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m., with short breaks from 5:40 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Fans will be able to take photos with the plaque, located on the third base concourse near the Express clubhouse.  Five lucky fans will also be able to enter for a chance to win a meet-and-greet with Nolan Ryan himself, which includes taking a photo with Nolan and his plaque.  More details for the contest will be released at a later date. This is a rare occasion for any sports fan to be a part of what promises to be an unforgettable event.    

The all-time leader in no-hitters (7) was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1999 on 98.79% of the eligible ballots, the second highest percentage in history. Nolan is the only player to have his uniform number retired by three different teams with the Angels (#30), Astros (#34) and Rangers (#34). The eight-time All-Star is one of only 24 pitchers in major league history to win 300 or more games with 324 victories. Ryan's career spanned 27 years with 5,714 strikeouts, crowning him as the all-time leader in strikeouts.  

The Express kick off their 2015 season at Dell Diamond on Friday, April 17 against the Memphis Redbirds.
