Holt Brothers to Partner with Mudcats

Former NCSU, NFL Stars Torry & Terrence Holt to Partner with Mudcats

ZEBULON, N.C.The Carolina Mudcats, the Class A Advanced affiliate of the Atlanta Braves, are proud to announce today a new partnership with Terrence and Torry Holt of Holt Brothers Inc. for the upcoming 2015 baseball season. On Sunday, May 3, the former NC State and NFL football stars will throw out the first pitches and attend Carolina's game versus the Frederick Keys as part of "N.C. State Day" at Five County Stadium. The game begins at 2:00 p.m. and will feature N.C. State themed music and other unique elements, including special promotions on behalf of the Holt Brothers Football Camp.

Holt Brothers Inc. consists of Holt Brothers Construction, Holt Brothers Development, Holt Brothers Football and the Holt Brothers Foundation. Holt Brothers Construction is currently involved in several important Triangle area infrastructure projects including the new Union Station in downtown Raleigh, the renovation of Reynolds Coliseum and Raleigh's new Critical Public Safety Facility. On the philanthropic side, the non-profit Holt Brothers Foundation helps fund programs supporting children who have a parent with cancer, a cause that Terrence and Torry have been dedicated to since losing their mother, Ojetta, to the disease.

In June, Holt Brothers Football operates the annual, one-day Holt Brothers Football Camp, held at NC State's Dail Outdoor Practice Facility. Campers ages 8-18 learn football skills together with lessons in leadership, character and teamwork from some of the best in the game, including other ex-NFL players and former college athletes.  This year's Holt Brothers Football Camp, offering morning and afternoon sessions on Sat., June 27, is currently open for registration.   • Terrence Holt played for the North Carolina State Wolfpack from 1999 through 2002. He was a three-year starter and made 307 tackles as a defensive back over his four seasons with N.C. State. He matched a NCAA record with four blocked field goals during his junior season in 2001. As a senior, Terrence was named Woilfpack team captain and Most Valuable Player, and earned national All America honors. He was selected in the 2003 NFL Draft by the Detroit Lions, where he spent four seasons. He also played with the Arizona Cardinals and New Orleans Saints during his six years in the NFL. Terrence serves as President of Holt Brothers Inc. and VP of the Foundation.
     
  • Torry Holt was the Atlantic Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Year in 1998 after his record-setting senior season at N.C. State. The star wide receiver was a consensus first-team AllAmerican and a finalist for the Fred Biletnikoff Award, given to the nation's top receiver. Torry finished his collegiate career with 191 receptions and 3,379 yards, and was selected with the sixth overall pick in the 1999 NFL Draft by the St. Louis Rams. He spent all but one of his 10 NFL seasons with the Rams before finishing his career with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2009. A seven-time NFL Pro Bowler, Torry is currently a nominee for the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He serves as President of the Holt Brothers Foundation and VP of Holt Brothers, Inc.

"A Braves New World" comes to Five County Stadium in 2015 as the Mudcats begin their first year as affiliate of the Atlanta Braves on April 9 at "The Family Place" versus the Salem Red Sox with first pitch scheduled for 7:00 p.m. The game can be heard on the Mudcats Radio Network and streamed live online at www.carolinamudcats.com.

The Carolina Mudcats are the Class A Advanced affiliate of the Atlanta Braves. The 2015 season is the first for the Mudcats as an affiliate of the Atlanta Braves and their fourth straight in the historic Carolina League. First established in 1991, the Mudcats are entering their 25th straight season of baseball at Five County Stadium in Zebulon, N.C.
