Iowa Cubs to be nationally televised July 16

I-Cubs, Redbirds will begin PCL second half on CBS Sports Network

DES MOINES, Iowa - Minor League Baseball today announced it will return to CBS Sports Network for a second season with 10 marquee regular season games, including the Iowa Cubs' July 16th game against the Memphis Redbirds, Triple-A Affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals.

 

"We are excited that Minor League Baseball and CBS Sports have come together for another season," said Iowa Cubs President/General Manager Sam Bernabe. "Putting minor league games on a national stage helps bring that special minor league experience to new fans all over the country. And of course, we know I-Cubs fans exist all over, so this is a great opportunity for them to tune in as well."

 

This season, 18 teams, six leagues and 15 Major League Baseball affiliates will be featured on the Thursday night Minor League Baseball Game of the Week. Iowa and Memphis open the second half of the season following the Pacific Coast League All-Star Game with a 7:08 p.m. CT contest at Principal Park.

 

CBS Sports Network can be found on Mediacom channels 171 and 762 (HD), Dish channel 158 and DirecTV channel 221 in the Des Moines and Ames TV markets.

  • July 9: Frisco RoughRiders (Rangers) at Northwest Arkansas Naturals (Royals), 7 p.m. CT

  • July 16: Memphis Redbirds (Cardinals) at Iowa Cubs (Cubs), 7 p.m. CT

  • July 23: Altoona Curve (Pirates) at Akron RubberDucks (Indians), 6 p.m. CT
