Missions Fall in Third Straight Game

MIDLAND--The Missions (5-9) lost their third straight and fell into last place in the South Division Friday night in front of 4,327 at Security Bank Ballpark.

San Antonio scored no more than three runs for the ninth time in 14 games despite outhitting the Rockhounds, 13-8. The Missions stranded 13 runners while going 3-for-14 with runners in scoring position.

Starting pitcher Elliot Morris held Midland to one run over four innings despite laboring throughout his outing. Morris made 92 pitches but worked out of a pair of jams.

Luis De La Cruz inherited a 2-1 lead in the fifth but the Missions righty was tagged for three runs and failed to get out of the inning. It marked the 19th multi-run frame for an opponent this year, accounting for 52 of the 65 runs allowed by San Antonio.

Hunter Renfroe collected three hits, including a pair of doubles, after entering play 6-for-48 with one extra base hit.

NOTES: Travis Jankowski singled twice to extend his league best hitting streak to 11 games...Trea Turner was 0x5 and struck out three times, snapping his hit streak at 10 games.
