Bees Hammer Isotopes 11-3

April 30, 2015

ALBUQUERQUE (APRIL 30) - Alex Yarbrough banged out four hits, including two doubles, and drove in three runs to lead the Salt Lake Bees to an 11-3 win over the Albuquerque Isotopes on Thursday night. The Bees grabbed a 3-0 lead in the first inning, as Yarbrough doubled and scored on a single by Carlos Perez, a wild pitch and an error. Perez' RBI double in the third made it 4-0 and Salt Lake would add two more runs in the fourth on an RBI double by Yarbrough and three Isotope errors. After Albuquerque cut the Bees' lead in half to 6-3 with three runs in the fourth off of starter Drew Rucinski, Salt Lake exploded for five runs on two run singles by Gary Brown and Yarbrough and the Isotopes' franchise record sixth error of the game.

Zach Stewart (1-2) earned the victory, as he came out of the bullpen to work three scoreless and hitless innings with two strikeouts and no walks. Alfredo Marte added three hits, while Perez chipped in with two hits and two runs batted in, as the Bees score in double digits for the first time this season. Salt Lake is now 3-2 on their current road trip.

Promotions during the homestand include Teacher Appreciation Night (May 5), a Bees socks giveaway (May 8), Pack the Park Pink (May 9) and Prevention Dimension Kid's Day (May 11).
