Bees Return to Smith's Ballpark on May 4

Homestand Includes Teacher Appreciation Night, Pack the Park Pink, Prevention Dimensions Kids Day and More

SALT LAKE CITY (May 1, 2015) - The Salt Lake Bees return to Smith's Ballpark for an eight-game homestand against the Tacoma Rainiers and Reno Aces, beginning on Monday, May 4 at 6:35 p.m. Below is an overview of the theme and community activities, promotions, giveaways and other events during the May 4-11 homestand.

Monday, May 4 vs. Tacoma 6:35 p.m.

  • Jazz Bear will throw out the first pitch and entertain fans between innings.
  • KTUB Juan 1600 AM will broadcast in Spanish the first of 10 Monday night games.
  • Monday nights are Smith's Family Nights which includes four hot dogs and four game tickets for $20 at Smith'sTix locations.

Tuesday, May 5 vs. Tacoma 6:35 p.m.

  • Teacher Appreciation Night presented by Waterford Institute. Teachers get free admission by presenting their teacher ID at the Smith's Ballpark box office and can purchase additional tickets for $8 each.
  • Cinco de Mayo celebrations will include $1 tacos at the Café Ole concession stand.
  • Kellogg's Kids Eat Free Tuesday Night. All kids 12-and-under receive a voucher for a free hot dog, drink and snack.

Wednesday, May 6 vs. Tacoma 6:35 p.m.

  • Hall of Fame pitcher Goose Gossage will throw out the first pitch. Gossage is in town to meet with 25 local children who finished participation in the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum's "Be a Superior Example' (BASE) program.
  • Wednesday nights are Wienerschnitzel $1 Hot Dog Night.

Thursday, May 7 vs. Tacoma 6:35 p.m.

  • Thirsty Thursday with $2.75 drinks.

Friday, May 8 vs. Reno 6:35 p.m.

  • First 2,000 fans will receive a pair of Bees knee high socks presented by Zions Bank.
  • Student Neighborhood Access Program (SNAP) Postgame Kids Run on the field following the game.

Saturday, May 9 vs. Reno 6:35 p.m.

  • Ninth annual "Pack the Park Pink Night" in collaboration with the Huntsman Cancer Foundation (HCF) and Swing for Life, in an effort to raise funds for breast cancer research at Huntsman Cancer Institute.
  • Bees will wear special pink uniforms during the game for public concourse auction. All proceeds will go directly to Huntsman Cancer Institute. Auction winners will be escorted onto the field after the game to meet the team and receive their jersey.
  • First 2,000 fans will receive a pink T-shirt presented by Larry H. Miller Collision Center.
  • Fans wearing pink to the game receive a $3 discount at the Smith's Ballpark box office.
  • Postgame fireworks show presented by Larry H. Miller Collison Centers. 
  • Student Neighborhood Access Program (SNAP) Postgame Kids Run on the field following the game.

Sunday, May 10 vs. Reno 1:05 p.m.

  • Mother's Day Brunch at the Ballpark. For $25, fans can purchase a special Mother's Day package, including a game ticket and special brunch served on the Bees Vista Deck.

Monday, May 11 vs. Reno 10:35 a.m.

  • Along with the Utah State Office of Education, the Bees will host the 13th annual Kids Day presented by Med One Capital, which promotes drug and alcohol prevention. More than 13,000 students will attend the special 10:35 a.m. game.
