Isotopes Edge Bees 12-10

May 3, 2015
ALBUQUERQUE (MAY 2) - Albuquerque exploded for eight runs in the fifth and were able to hang on, as the Isotopes downed the Salt Lake Bees 12-10 on Saturday night. Albuquerque led 3-2 going into the fifth when the first seven batters all reached base off of Salt Lake reliever Scott Snodgress. Matt McBride started the scoring with an RBI single. Two batters later, Ryan Casteel drilled a three run triple to right center to make it 7-2. Roger Bernadina singled home Casteel to make it 8-2 and then score later on a steal of home as part of a double steal. Run scoring doubles by Tim Smalling and Wilin Rosario would cap off the inning.

Salt Lake trailed 12-4 going into the eighth and plated six runs to pull to within two. Jett Bandy opened the scoring with an RBI single and came home on a two run homer by Ryan Wheeler. Daniel Robertson walked and one out later, Alex Yarbrough doubled to put runners at second and third. Kyle Kubitza doubled home both runners and then scored on an RBI single by Marc Krauss to make 12-10, but the Isotopes bullpen retired the last four Bees' batters to end the game. All ten Salt Lake batters had at least one hit with Kubitza leading the way with two hits and three runs batted in. The loss drops the Bees record to 4-3 on the road trip.
