Rucinski Leads Bees to Victory

June 2, 2015

NASHVILLE (JUNE 2)- Drew Rucinski threw seven strong innings to lead the Salt Lake Bees to a 2-1 win over the Nashville Sounds on Tuesday night. Rucinski (2-4) went seven innings and allowed just one run on five hits with six strikeouts and one walk. He gave up one run in the seventh and Nashville had two runners on base, but escaped the inning by striking out Anthony Aliotti. Vinnie Pestano, who was just optioned to Salt Lake by the Angels worked his way out of a bases loaded, one out jam in the eighth and Jeremy McBryde tossed a three up, three down ninth for his sixth save of the season.

The Bees took a 1-0 lead in the fourth inning when Jett Bandy belted his fifth home run of the season off of former Salt Lake pitcher Brad Mills. They would add one more run in the fifth, as Kyle Kubitza worked for a two out walk and then scored from first on a double into the left field corner by former Ute C.J. Cron, who led the Bees with a pair of doubles and one run batted in. Marc Krauss singled in the eighth to extend his hitting streak to eleven games. The win ended Salt Lake's three game losing streak and snapped Nashville's season long eight game winning streak.
