EUGENE, Ore. - The Eugene Emeralds used a six-run seventh inning to come back and defeat the Boise Hawks, 8-3, on Wednesday night in front of 4,111 fans at PK Park.

Second baseman Frandy De La Rosa drove in a game-high four runs on a single and his first triple of the season. Ricardo Marcano and Ho-young Son also had two hits each. Emeralds (2-5) reliever Jae-Hoon Ha (1-0) picked up the win after tossing two scoreless innings Boise (3-4) reliever Tyler Matzek (0-1) suffered the loss after recording just one out in the Ems' big seventh inning.

Boise was able to strike first in the fourth. Designated hitter Kevin Padlo singled in Yonathan Daza, who doubled to start the inning. Boise scored two more runs in the fifth, on both a wild pitch and a RBI ground out from shortstop Carols Herrera.

Down 3-0, Eugene got something going in the sixth with runners at the corners and no outs. Designated hitter Justin Marra singled in a run before De La Rosa singled in another run with two outs.

The Emeralds rallied back and took the lead in the seventh when they scored three times on bases loaded walks. Matzek issued five walks in the frame and hit a batter before being pulled with one out. After the pitching change, De La Rosa smacked a bases clearing triple into the right field corner to put the Emeralds on top, 8-3.

Notes: Willamette Valley Babe Ruth baseball teams were honored before the game started after a parade on the field…Matzek, who suffered the loss, was once a University of Oregon commit and would have played collegiately at PK Park before being drafted in the first round and signing with the Rockies in 2009.

Up Next: Justin Steele will start tomorrow for the Ems against the Hawks' Dylan Thompson. Every Thursday is Tall Boy Thursday, presented by Pabst Blue Ribbon. Box seats, Pepsi and PBR tall boys cost just $3 on Thursdays. It will also be Country Night, presented by Original Roadhouse Grill.
