SeaWolves to Host 'Good Deeds Day' on July 1

The SeaWolves have teamed up with Erie Federal Credit Union to host the second annual 'Good Deeds Day' on Wednesday, July 1 at Jerry Uht Park.

Good Deeds Day is a drive to collect items needed by multiple non-profit organizations in the Erie region. Fans who donate an item at the game on July 1 will receive a complimentary reserved seat ticket to the SeaWolves' Fan Appreciation Night doubleheader on September 5 against the Bowie Baysox (Baltimore Orioles).

"We would like to thank our partners at Erie Federal Credit Union for supporting this community initiative," said SeaWolves President Greg Coleman. "We encourage SeaWolves fans to support one or more Erie-area organizations by bringing needed items to the ballpark on July 1." 

Items can be donated at the stadium from 5:30-7:00 p.m. prior to the SeaWolves' game against the Binghamton Mets (New York Mets) at 7:05 p.m. Stadium gates open to the general public at 6 p.m. The following is a list of participating organizations and their current list of needed items:

Box of Light

LEGO blocks & sets, K'nex, Lincoln Logs, blocks, Halloween costumes, art supplies, action figures, and hand tools (screw drivers, hammers, drills, saws, etc.)

Hooked on Books

Will only accept new books for any age of child or youth between birth and age 18. Books must be in good condition. Please no books that are worn out or no longer readable. Please no old text books or encyclopedias or books in poor condition.

Erie Youth Hockey Association

Hockey tape, hockey sticks, ice skates, hockey pucks, hockey pants, chest protectors, or helmets.

Erie City Mission

Mulch and vegetable/fruit seeds for gardens, baby wipes, baby food/formula, diapers (sizes 2-5), boxed foods (cereal, breakfast bars, mac & cheese, spaghetti, etc.), canned foods (fruit, vegetables, soup, broth, chicken, tuna, etc.), feminine hygiene products (pads, tampons, shaving cream), toilet paper, paper towels, & monetary donations.

ANNA Shelter (Association for Needy and Neglected Animals)

Dishwasher soap, laundry soap & bleach, large black trash bags (39 gallon), cleaning supplies (Fabuloso, Mr. Clean, Clorox Wipes, etc.), litter (Scoopable is best), dog treats (rawhides/pig ears), pet dishes and bowls (stainless is best - NO PLASTIC PLEASE), pet toys (dog, puppy, cat, kitten), blankets and towels-any size or type, and office supplies (scotch tape, pens, file folders/labels, etc.)
