Marksberry promoted to Triple-A
ZEBULON, NC - The Atlanta Braves announced today several player transactions including one affecting the Carolina Mudcats active roster. The moves include the transfer of LHP Matt Marksberry from Carolina to Triple-A Gwinnett today.

Marksberry, 24, was 3-1 with two saves and a 2.78 ERA over 22 games at the time of his promotion. He began the season 0-0 with a 6.75 ERA over seven games in April, but posted a 0.71 ERA over seven games and 12 and 2/3 innings in May. He is currently 1-0 with a 1.98 ERA over eight games in June. Marksberry has struck out 35 and held opponents to a Carolina League best .175 average against this season.
The Carolina Mudcats are the Class A Advanced affiliate of the Atlanta Braves. The 2015 "Braves New World" season is the first for the Mudcats as an affiliate of the Atlanta Braves and their fourth straight in the historic Carolina League. First established in 1991, the Carolina Mudcats are in their 25th straight season of baseball at Five County Stadium in Zebulon, N.C.
