Delmarva Unveils 2016 Game Times

SALISBURY, Md. -- The Delmarva Shorebirds, Class A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, have announced game times for their 2016 home schedule, which will begin at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium on April 14 against the Hagerstown Suns at 7:05 p.m.

The bulk of Monday-Saturday games will feature 7:05 p.m. start times, keeping in line with previous seasons.

"In past years, we have found that keeping most of our games at 7:05 starts to fit our fans' schedules has worked best," Shorebirds general manager Chris Bitters said. "We will also continue to have a select number of games with unique start times to accommodate special promotions that have become very popular."

Sunday games will feature similar starting times to previous years, with all Sunday contests in the first half of the season beginning at 2:05 p.m. Beginning with the 'Birds' July 10 game against Hagerstown, Sunday games will then move to 5:05 p.m. starts. 

Before the season begins, the Shorebirds will host their annual exhibition game against Salisbury University on Tuesday, April 5 at 7:05 p.m.

Delmarva will also host two Field of Dreams dates in the spring on April 28 and May 18 with a special 10:35 a.m. first pitch to accommodate local students.

Other unique start times include a 5:05 p.m. game against the Hickory Crawdads on Monday, May 30 for Memorial Day. Mountaire Faith and Family Night on June 11 will be the lone Saturday game to feature a 6:35 p.m. start.

The Shorebirds will also be at home for the 4th of July for a special 6:35 p.m. start against the Lakewood BlueClaws. The 2016 season will conclude at Perdue Stadium with a 2:05 p.m. game against the Kannapolis Intimidators on Monday, Sept. 5 for Labor Day.
