Chiefs Are Bringing Back Historic Colors, Red, White, & Blue!

The Syracuse Chiefs unveiled a new, but traditional look for the 2016 season today. The Chiefs new official colors, Red, White and Blue return the historic franchise colors the Chiefs have traditionally been known for.

"As we looked around the history in our offices, we saw the red, white and blue theme in uniforms from the 30's, 40's, 50's and with the Sky Chiefs. This is the true identity of the Chiefs and we are proud to bring it back," said general manager Jason Smorol. "This is the story of the Chiefs, we have been in this community for a long time and we will continue to be here growing with CNY."

Fans can continue to enjoy the train logo, which honors the mighty railroads that shipped Syracuse-manufactured goods all over America, only this year, it will be in Red, White and Blue. The Chiefs will also resurrect the historic Chiefs script "S" logo the team wore when affiliated with the Detroit Tigers and NY Yankees.

The Chiefs look was brought to life at Brandiose in San Diego, where they make teams famous by celebrating their brand stories.

"Working with Brandiose made this process fun. They work with some of the most successful teams in our business and we want to make sure we are partnering with the best as we rebuild the Chiefs," Smorol added.

Partners Jason and Casey invented the first glow-in-the-dark on-filed cap for the Casper Ghosts and first on-field rally cap for the Altoona Curve. They dreamed up top selling logos for the Richmond Flying Squirrels, Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs and America's oldest baseball club, the Cincinnati Reds. "While in Syracuse, we immersed ourselves in the history of the Chiefs and listened fan's captivating stories about the club," said Brandiose Jason Klein. "Returning to historic colors is a great way to connect the Chiefs name with the heritage of Syracuse baseball."
