Top 15 of '15: Biggest Comeback in Team History

January 4, 2016

On May 18, 2015, the El Paso Chihuahuas reminded fans never to leave a game early. El Paso trailed by seven runs in the fourth inning and not only came back to win, but came back to win by six runs.

The visiting Fresno Grizzlies exploded for eight runs on eight hits in the top of the fourth inning to go ahead 9-2. The Chihuahuas quickly countered with six runs in the bottom of the fourth to get within one. The two teams combined for 14 runs in the fourth inning.

The Chihuahuas' fourth-inning rally included a three-run homer by fan favorite Cody Decker:

The ball was jumping that night at Southwest University Park - just two innings later the Chihuahuas scored seven runs to take the lead and tie a team record for runs in an inning. The Chihuahuas won 15-9 and in the process scored more runs than in their previous seven games combined.

Melvin Upton Jr. had two hits in the first of his 13 MLB injury rehab games with El Paso. The Chihuahuas seven-run comeback tied the team record, which was previously set exactly one year before, May 18, 2014 at home vs. Las Vegas.

The Chihuahuas are hosting the San Diego Padres in an exhibition game on March 31, 2016! The only way to guarantee seats is to be a Full Season or Paw-tial Seat plan holder. Call (915) 533-BASE for more information.
