Baysox Introduce Diamond Dog of the Game

Dogs Looking for Homes to be Showcased Throughout the Season

BOWIE, Md. - The Bowie Baysox and Bark! Pawsitive Pet Food have partnered to introduce the 2016 Diamond Dog of the Game program. Throughout the season, area animal shelters and rescue organizations will be bringing dogs to Prince George's Stadium during home games to help them find suitable homes.

At each Baysox home game during the 2016 season (excluding the five 11:05 am games) one dog available for adoption will be brought to P.G. Stadium and showcased to fans. Each of the seven organizations the Baysox have partnered with will accept adoption applications for that game's special guest and their other dogs looking for a good home.

"The Baysox are very happy to be partnering with Bark! and other animal organizations this season in hopes of finding adoptable dogs good homes in the area," said Baysox Marketing Director Brandan Kaiser. "The goal of Diamond Dog of the Game is to bring more awareness to pet adoption and showcase some great local organizations."

"At Bark!, adoption events and support of our local rescues play a huge part in our mission to enrich the human and animal bond within our community," said Bark! Director of Operations Rachel Smith. "We are so excited for our four-legged friends to have this amazing opportunity to find their fur-ever homes through this program!"

Here is the full schedule of animal rescue organizations that will be attending Baysox games this season:

Mondays - Bowie CLAW

Tuesdays - Humane Society of Calvert County

Wednesdays - Partnership for Animal Welfare

Thursdays - Prince George's County Shelter

Fridays - SPCA of Anne Arundel County

Saturdays - SPCA/Humane Society of Prince George's County

Sundays - Anne Arundel County Animal Control

Each organization will have a table on the concourse during its designated night where fans can meet the Diamond Dog of the Game and learn more about that specific dog or other animals each group has available for adoption.

The 2016 Bowie Baysox season is presented by Money One Federal Credit Union. The Baysox are the 2015 Eastern League Champions! Bowie opens its 24th season as the Class AA affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles at home Thursday, April 7 against the Akron RubberDucks at 6:35 p.m. Single game tickets are now on sale at www.baysox.com.
